Abstract

The Republic of Croatia is faced with a large number of road traffic accidents involving pedestrians, in the last few years. In order to reduce traffic accidents involving pedestrians, the Croatian Parliament adopted in 2011.a new "Law on Road Traffic Safety", which is compatible with the "National Program of road safety of the Republic of Croatia from 2011. to 2020. Pedestrians take a large share of traffic accidents in cities, as well as in the City of Sibenik. One of the reasons of injury or suffering of pedestrians is the condition of the existing road infrastructure, which City of Sibenik, in the last few years, has continuously improved. Since investing in the maintenance and reconstruction of city roads and streets, as well as continuous work on education and increasement of pedestrians traffic culture, is a difficult and long-term deal, it would increase the general state of traffic safety and directly save human lives.
