Abstract

Institutional economic analysis and varied model concept of corporate governance have experienced a research boom for two decades in parallel. Causal links between such 'elixir s' of development are evident, but in theory not sufficiently explored, especially in their complementary interdependence and causality. In all future development models, these factors need to form strategic foundations for all the methods, formulas of success, competitiveness and competences of successful businesses . Seaports are a good example of the above conclusions and transition economies are typical examples of absence of the above mentioned foundations in sufficient capacity. The aim of this research is to explain the most important inhibition causes, trends and consequences of deficits of considered categories and point out the necessity of applying positive exemplary models of the world . This research is very interesting in terms of future reforms in the Adriatic seaports which should dominantly include institutional and corporate segments if they intent to achieve sustainable development
